Severe Acne Treatments are a solution to acne problems!

• Severe acne treatment includes ‘Acne surgery’. This is performed on those cysts that do not get treated by medications. They need drainage and extraction. This surgery must be performed by trained dermatologists as this is very risky. It should be performed with due care under sterile conditions. If not done properly, it can cause serious infection making the situation worse!
• Interlesional corticosteroid injection as a severe acne treatment is given to patients when the cyst turn out to be highly reddened and inflamed. A few noted side effects of this are severe pain in abdomen, headache, nausea, painful swallowing, rectal bleeding, and birth defects in developing fetus, joint pain, dizziness, depression dryness in skin, vomiting and thinning of hair.
• Another worth mentioning severe acne treatment is done with oral antibiotics. They work by decreasing the P. acne growth thereby reducing the inflammation. In the early stage, the patient is given a high dose of oral antibiotics and gradually over the time, the medication quantity is reduced. Some commonly used antibiotics include tetracycline, Erythromycin, minocycline, doxycline.
• Oral contraceptives are also used as Severe acne treatment methods in women . this suppresses the hyper active sebaceous glands. But these oral contraceptive have certain restrictions namely: they cannot be prescribed for women who somke, also they cannot be given to women who have had migraine headaches problem, women older than thirty five years of age are also not allowed to take these, and they can not be given to women who have blood-clotting disorder.
• In adult females, Spironolactone should be used in combination with oral contraceptives for severe acne treatment.
